United took on Washington Spartans in an end of season friendly to keep the lads ticking over and came away with a win and a clean sheet
Spartans started with 10 men and United went ahead within 20 seconds when Chris Sproat latched onto a bad pass to get one on one with the keeper and stroke the ball home
United had several chances to extend their lead but it wasn't until the 29th minute when Andy Laidler played it to Chris Sproat who added his and United's second
Two minutes later and Chris Sproat completed his hattrick after being played in by Chris Wasey and United led 3-0
United made a change on the half hour with Gareth Downes coming on for Iain Ray and United changing to 3-5-2 and within a minute of his introduction Gareth Downes converted a pass from Ross McLagan to bag his first United goal
United added a fifth in the second half when Jamie Williams converted with his stomach after the ball was hit at him with the ball rolling into the far corner
That's how it ended and United went home with the 5-0 win
