A last minute penalty gave Shincliffe a point in a very even game which United looked to have nicked
A very even first half with only a handful of half chances - The United boys held their own and at times got on top of a very strong and physical Shincliffe team
Shincliffe had 3 or 4 very strong and influential players in the middle of the pitch who dominated at times and a very strong centre half
Half time 0-0
Second half and Shincliffe went 1-0 up after 5 minutes when the United defence didn’t react to a ball they thought was going out of play which was then crossed to the back post and a good header was converted. 1-0 to Shincliffe
At 1-0 down United played some decent football and seemed to be getting back on top but could only manage 3 or 4 half chances.
The game swung back to Shincliffe but United equalised against the run of play with a great 30 yard strike from Alfie which just dipped under the bar - game on with 10 minutes left!
A huge kick from Kaleb a few minutes later that went well over the half way line allowed Jamie to latch onto it, go past his man and finish well from an angle high into the net. 2-1 to United with 3 minutes left from a great second debut strike from Jamie
United looked like they would nick the 3 points but Shincliffe won a sketchy penalty from an Aaron body check in the box which was converted for a 2-2 draw - to be fair Kaleb was not far away from saving it but it was right in the corner and a good strike
On reflection 2-2 was probably fair as there was very little between the two teams on the day
This is a good point against a team who have only lost one game to United on the opening day of the season and are on an unbeaten 8 game run.
Well done lads - hard fought point and the lads nearly went home with the 3!
